InspiredMe: Moving Mommy Monster!

Talk about a crazy week. I’ll be honest, moving doesn’t bring the best out of me… to put it nicely, I’ve not been the most patient mommy this week. My son picked out this shirt to wear to bed last night and I thought it was ironic… he really does love me even when I am hard to love… ie: this week of moving mommy monster!  I have been busy packing, unpacking, and all the while shouting, “don’t touch that,” “pick up that,” “in a minute,” “after mommy cleans this,” “please go play somewhere else,” etc… the list goes on.  You can imagine. But then I read this post today from Pink Pistachio and it gave me a wake up call and brought me back to what is really important. I thought to myself, “wow, I need to relax and come back to being present.” What she said was profound:

“Life spent with our little ones goes so quickly. There’s not the extra time for saying, “Just a minute, son.” or “When I’m finished, ok?”

To be in our children’s memories tomorrow, we have to be in their lives today.”

So, even in the midst of all chaos and stress, there is always time to stop, to be present with my boys, and to enjoy them right now, today… the house can wait, the boxes can stay packed for one more day, the walls can be bare for the time being. What is most important today and always is that my children feel loved and appreciated right now.
